To register please send a mail with name, address, phone number, curriculum vitae and a maximum of 10 photo files (72 dpi) or web site address by the 31st October 2008 at the latest. Tell us also the number of meetings (6, 12 or 18) you want to book. Send to: office@anikahandelt.com

Three preferred experts may be named though there is no guarantee that they will be assigned. The organisers reserve the right to allocate the times of sessions.

The list of participants will be posted on this website at the beginning of November and also published in our newsletter. On payment of the registration fees these people will be regarded fixed participants in the Review. Further details will be notified by mail

Diese Portfolio Review ist eine seltene Gelegenheit, die Fotografinnen und Fotografen aus der künstlerischen und dokumentarischen Fotografie einen direkten Meinungsaustausch mit gleich mehreren renommierten Fachleuten ermöglicht. In Österreich kommt es heuer erstmals dazu: Während des Monats der Fotografie in Wien hat "anika handelt" heimische und internationale Kuratoren, Art Direktoren, Herausgeber, Galeristen und Festivalveranstalter geladen, die in Form von Vieraugen-Gesprächen Feedbacks zu fotografischen Arbeiten zu geben. Die Portfolio Review ist die ideale Möglichkeit für Networking - im Bestfall gelangen überzeugende Arbeiten auf diesem Wege in Ausstellungen, werden in Magazinen präsentiert oder Künstler zu Fotografiefestivals eingeladen. Stattfinden wird die Review im Museum auf Abruf (MUSA) gleich neben dem Wiener Rathaus.

Im Rahmen der 1. Portfolio Review in Wien wird darüber hinaus ein Siegerportfolio gekürt - der Preis besteht in einer Einzelpräsentation in Wien (genauer Ort und Zeitraum werden noch bekannt gegeben).

Teilnehmen können Künstler und professionelle Fotografen, deren nicht-kommerzielle Arbeiten einen Projekt- und Werkszusammenhang sowie eine eigenständige künstlerische Idee erkennen lassen. Einschränkungen hinsichtlich Alter oder Nationalität existieren keine. Die Gespräche finden auf deutsch oder englisch statt.

Portfolio Reviews are special occasions that make it possible for photographers working in the areas of artistic and documentary photography to have direct contact with acclaimed experts. This will be happening in Austria for the first time this year. During the Month of Photography in Vienna "anika handelt" has invited national and international curators, art directors, publishers, gallery owners and festival organisers to provide feedback on photographic works in the form of one-to-one exchanges. Portfolio Review is the ideal opportunity for networking – the best possible scenario envisages that convincing works would find their way into exhibitions, be presented in magazines or that the artists would receive invitations to photography festivals. The review will take place in the Museum auf Abruf (MUSA), right next to the Vienna City Hall.

During the 1st Portfolio Review in Vienna a winning portfolio will be chosen – the prize consists of a solo presentation in Vienna (precise location and schedule to be determined).

Those entitled to take part are artists and professional photographers whose non-commercial works exhibit a project or work-oriented context in which individual artistic ideas are recognisable. There are no restrictions as to age or nationality. The meetings will take place in German or English.
