R. I. was born 1962 in Rottenmann (Styria, Austria). He studied German Literature and Linguistics at Salzburg University. Since 1983 he is a boardmember of Fotohof Salzburg and since 1999 he works as a publisher of photography books (Fotohof edition - together with Michael Mauracher). R. I. lives in Salzburg and Vienna.
