Zuzana Lapitková

 

Zuzana Lapitková works as a curator of photography organizing various national and international exhibitions and as a coordinator of projects, both in historical research and modern photography.

Lapitková was born in 1974. In 1998 she graduated from history of art and archeology at the Faculty of Arts at the Comenius University, Bratislava. In the period 2001/2002 Lapitková stayed at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium) focusing on researching a historical ephemeral architecture. In the years 2004-2005 she realized her project of public events at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastrich (the Netherlands). Since 2006 Lapitková works as a curator for the Central European House of Photography in Bratislava. She coordinates long-term international projects such as Mutations, exchange programme between Dutch and Slovak photographers, or a research project in photography history. She is responsible for a gallery program in the house of photography.

Z.L. is particulary interested in imaginary or manipulated photography or in works overcoming borders of photograhy media towards other visual arts media (for example video). She particularly focuses on questions of work message and concept, coleration between idea and form.
