Iris Sikking

 

Iris Sikking (1968) is photo-historian and curator. Before her career in the photographic field took off, she worked as documentary filmeditor. After finishing her Masters in Photographic Studies (University of Leiden), she compiled the exhibition BABY: Picturing the Ideal Human 1840s-Now based on her research thesis (Nederlands Fotomuseum Rotterdam and National Media Museum Bradford).
For Paradox she produced the multi platform project The Last Days of Shishmaref by Dana Lixenberg. Currently she is conducting research for the Slow Journalism project on documentary strategies focusing on the use of the web and iPad as full-grown platforms. Furthermore she curates A N G R Y: young&radical, a multi platform project representing the radical, reflecting on radicalisation in our society, its nature and its representation in the media (Nederlands Fotomuseum, Rotterdam 2011).
